Types of Coils which Alpha Coil Supplies

Specialty Coils

When standard solutions aren’t enough, Alpha Coil’s specialty engineering comes into play. We tackle the applications that require exotic materials, extreme pressure ratings, or innovative physical configurations.

Condenser Coils

Located on rooftops or in outdoor enclosures, condenser coils are the “rejectors” of the HVAC system. They must be rugged enough to survive the elements while remaining efficient enough to shed heat in high-ambient conditions.

Refrigerant Coils

Refrigerant coils (Direct Expansion or DX coils) are high-precision components where a phase change occurs to facilitate cooling. Alpha Coil focuses on thermal balance, ensuring the refrigerant is distributed evenly across all circuits for maximum efficiency.

Steam Coils

Steam is a powerful heating medium capable of carrying massive amounts of thermal energy. However, it requires a robust coil design to handle high pressures, extreme temperatures, and the destructive potential of water hammer. Alpha Coil’s steam solutions are built for industrial-grade durability.

Water Coils

Water coils serve as the backbone of modern hydronic HVAC systems and industrial process cooling. These coils facilitate the precise transfer of energy between a liquid medium (typically water or a glycol-water mixture) and the airstream. Alpha Coil specializes in “Exact-Fit” replacements, ensuring that our custom designs match the performance curves and physical footprints of…

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General Questions

The most accurate way is to provide us with the original manufacturer’s part number or the model number of the air handling unit. If that information is unavailable, our team can guide you through a field-measurement process or provide a measurement template to ensure an “Exact-Fit” replacement.

Yes. We specialize in “OEM-Equivalent” replacements. We maintain a vast database of specifications for major brands, allowing us to manufacture coils that match or exceed the performance of the original equipment at a more competitive price point and often with faster lead times.

A picture of the coil tag is best. If coil tag is not available, we can provide a drawing to note your coil details. We typically need the coil type (water, steam, DX, etc.), dimensions (finned height, finned length, and number of rows), fins per inch (FPI), and the material requirements for the tubes, fins, and casing.

While we provide comprehensive help for self-measurement, we can also coordinate with local mechanical contractors or technicians to assist in complex site surveys for large-scale retrofits or highly specialized industrial applications.

Absolutely. Replacement is the perfect time to upgrade. If your original coil failed prematurely due to corrosion, we can upgrade your new coil to stainless steel, cupro-nickel, or add a specialized protective coating.

Because all HVAC systems have unique dimensions and performance requirements, our coils are “built-to-order.”

Pricing & Ordering Questions

You can submit your specifications via our online quote request form. Most quotes are processed and returned within 24 to 48 business hours.

The primary drivers are the size (finned area), the number of rows, and the materials used. Protective coatings and high-pressure testing requirements will also add to the final cost.

No. We are happy to manufacture a single replacement coil for a local small business or hundreds of coils for a large-scale industrial facility or university campus.

We typically require a deposit or full payment for first-time customers or custom-engineered projects. Established accounts and institutional clients may apply for standard Net-30 credit terms.

Yes. We offer tiered pricing for mechanical contractors, facility management groups, and OEM partners who order in volume or maintain a frequent ordering schedule.

Shipping is typically included with the net price.
